Deviation Actions
I've been working off and on to make up for the problems concerning my computer. I've rewritten parts of deleted poems, and a couple of fragments are now posted in "Scraps," and will probably sit there until I've deformed them into a form I like. There was one piece, which was nearly complete and also one of the most recent, which I've now uploaded as my latest deviation, "Poor Little Girl". If you've seen it, then you've encountered the odd language. That style has acquired a meaning of its own, because I feel incongruent with so much around me and am dissatisfied with so much of modernity (or post-modernity or whatever). My work should seem archaic and foreign. I'm rather tired of verse-chorus-verse-chorus songs and so I want to write more "content-structured" work --- where different ideas or events in the poem are the basis for the division into sections, like scenes in a play, paragraphs in a five-paragraph essay, etc. All the writing I've uploaded so far, by the way, has been pieces I wrote a long time, sometimes years ago, even if I revised them before posting them. Thus "Poor Little Girl" is like a demarcation of the old and the new, and shows the start of a more deliberate or purposeful direction.
Conlang Work - New Account
Announcing a new account: http://conciliarityoftepat.deviantart.com/
I do a lot of conlang and conworld work, and I thought it was about time to display art related to that. However, since my work is extensive, highly integrated (all set in one world), and quite different in style and intent from the work I've posted on this account in the past - in other words, it's its own thing - I've decided it deserves its own space, so I created http://conciliarityoftepat.deviantart.com/.
If you like conlangs, conworlds, or concultures, check it out.
Devious Journal Entry
Well, I still have no internet. But I am alive. Actually, I'm probably more alive than I was before. I'm in the city now with an amazingly passable connection, which is sort of like seeing a color TV for the first time after a black-n'-white 6-inch. Since my last update, I finished "One Man's Wilderness," and also "Siddhartha" and "All Quiet on the Western Front," and am now almost done with "Dr. Zhivago." (I love those Russian novels. "War and Peace" is next.)
Offline
Well, I now live in an area with no internet! Responses will be slow.
First Song
I have finally have something to show for my Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/558472285). The song "The Grand Inquisitor: A One-Sided Dialogue with the Son of God" is now available for listening! It's taken me a long time, but remember my Wheel may grind slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine. If the lyrics sound familiar, they came from my deviation of the same name (http://fav.me/d2qrfzg), which itself came from Dostoyevsky's story. Check it out!
